Associate Professor, Rutgers School of Dental Medicine and Rutgers School of Health Professions

 

 

Vaishali Singhal is an associate professor at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM) and at the Rutgers School of Health Professions (SHP). She has a DMD from RSDM and a Master of Science and PhD from SHP. Dr. Singhal is passionate about interprofessional education and interprofessional patient care and participates in several activities to promote these areas. Vaishali has been a faculty facilitator in the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS IPE CVA Case Experience since 2018. In 2022 Vaishali participated as a faculty facilitator for the RBHS Oncology Hospice Case Conference and the Interprofessional Joining Forces Veteran’s Healthcare Program. Vaishali Singhal has been a faculty facilitator for the Special Populations Interprofessional Care Experiences (SPICE) since 2016.

Dr. Singhal is a member of the Integrated Care Grant which was awarded to Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care by the Nicholson Foundation. Vaishali’s PhD thesis topic was on improving the oral health of the population with serious mental illness. She works with colleagues from RSDM and SHP’s Department of Psychiatric Rehabilitation to bring this important topic to 3rd year dental students. Dr. Singhal also recently received a grant from New Jersey Health Foundation to study this topic on a large scale with 22,000 patient records from RSDM. This study is being conducted in collaboration with faculty from SHP, RSDM and Temple University’s College of Public Health.
