Rowena Curva PhD, APRN, FNP-C

Over the past fourteen years, Rowena has held several positions in nursing as a clinician, educator, and leader.  She has worked as an RBHS Lecturer and Center for Clinical Learning Facilitator in Rutgers School of Nursing since 2015.  Over the past seven years, Rowena has implemented and integrated simulation-based learning experiences in curricula for traditional and second-degree and graduate-level advanced practice nursing programs. Additionally, Rowena has facilitated multiple interprofessional simulations across Rutgers Biomedical Health and Sciences programs. She is a committee member of the CVA IPE Planning Team and is passionate about the value of interprofessional and interdisciplinary care in promoting health and wellness for all populations.

Rowena also has expertise and a strong interest in global health. She has collaborated with the University of Dodoma School of Nursing in Tanzania to build faculty capacity by creating and implementing faculty training program in simulation-based learning for integration into their curriculum. She has also delivered simulation-based disaster-preparedness training for the Japanese Tomodachi Johnson and Johnson Nurse Training Program.
