Megan Maroney, PharmD, BCPP

 

Clinical Associate Professor, Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, Rutgers University

 

 

Dr. Megan Maroney is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy (EMSOP) and a clinical pharmacy specialist in the area of psychiatry at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ where she works with adult and child/adolescent inpatient and outpatient psychiatry teams. Dr. Maroney earned her Board Certification in Psychiatric Pharmacy from the Board of Pharmacy Specialties in 2013 and approval from the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy for collaborative practice in psychiatry in 2016. She was one of the first pharmacists in New Jersey to be granted approval for collaborative practice. In 2017, Dr. Maroney was the recipient of the New Jersey Health Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award. She is an active member of the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP) and currently serves as chair of CPNP’s Public Education Committee.

 

Dr. Maroney serves as co-chair of EMSOP’s Interprofessional Education (IPE) Committee, a role she has held since 2016. In this role, she seeks to create and cultivate interprofessional educational activities for EMSOP students throughout the curriculum, engage faculty in IPE initiatives, and ensure that each EMSOP student is prepared to practice in an interprofessional team.  Dr. Maroney has personally facilitated over 40 IPE events/activities throughout RBHS. In addition to her teaching responsibilities at EMSOP, Dr. Maroney provides lectures for the Rutgers School of Nursing, Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology, and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School psychiatry residency program, as well as the continuing education department of the Rutgers School of Social Work.
