About Us

The Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) Office of Interprofessional Programs was created on July 1, 2013, when most of the schools of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey were merged into Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. The Schools and Institutes that comprise RBHS are:

  • Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University
  • Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical and Health Sciences
  • Rutgers New Jersey Medical School
  • Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School
  • Rutgers School of Dental Medicine
  • Rutgers School of Nursing
  • Rutgers School of Health Related Professions
  • Institute for Health, Health Policy and Aging Research

The range of health professions students trained at RBHS allows for the development of innovative interprofessional learning opportunities that provide students from a wide range of disciplines to learn about, from and with each other.

In addition to training students from the RBHS schools, the Office of Interprofessional Programs has also created educational and clinical partnerships with the Rutgers School of Social Work, the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology, and the Rutgers School of Law. Students from all of these schools are trained to work as members of highly functional collaborative teams in a variety of settings including small and large case-based sessions, student-run clinics, community based clinics and in simulated case based learning.
